The International Space Company ISC KOSMOTRAS Closed Joint Stock Company was established and registered in 1997. The Company headquarters office is in Moscow, while the Company daughter/ branch enterprise is stationed (since 1999) in Kiev.
Shareholders of ISC KOSMOTRAS are leading scientific organizations and industrial enterprises in Russia, Ukraine and Kazakhstan. Under conduct of ISC KOSMOTRAS, they have created the “Dnepr” launch system, providing subsequent post-production and authorship supervision thereof during exploitation. The ISC KOSMOTRAS share-stock distribution structure is like follows: 45% to Russian Federation,  45% to Ukraine (including PJSC «HARTRON»), 10% to Kazakhstan.
In 2006, ISC KOSMOTRAS has been granted with the Certificate of Quality Management (ISO 9001:2000), and the Certificate of Ecology Management (ISO 14001:2001).
ISC KOSMOTRAS is administered by the Shareholders meetings/assemblies, Council of Directors, Science& Technology Council, represented by heads/chief of ISC KOSMOTRAS ruled enterprises in Russia, Ukraine and Kazakhstan, members of State institutions, leading experts and specialists of the Program.
Scope of ISC KOSMOTRAS business activities, in particular, embraces:
- marketing operations (such, for example, as concluding and proceeding with agreements between industrial enterprises of Russia and Ukraine on conversion refurbishment of intercontinental ballistic missiles RS-20 to non-military space missions); coordination of work-activities between Ukrainian enterprises participating in pre-launch arrangements and launch events due to space rocketry programs (whereby corresponding electronics thereto are supplied, and while relevant test-trials are implemented by PJSC «HARTRON»).
ICC COSMOTRAS holds responsibilities for commitment of partnership obligations before overseas customers also. For this reason, ICC COSMOTRAS addresses the associated industrial enterprises with orders on manufacture of hardware products intended for tasks of satellite-to-rocket integration; ensures delivery and assembling of hardware componentry; clears out Custom’s formalities for import of relevant cargo from international partner suppliers.
Such efforts become specifically complicated if customers from several countries schedule one particular day to have their satellites launched to orbit collectively at one time. Such the ‘cluster launches’ are specific, to the ISC KOSMOTRAS organizers, for necessity to match loyally and join interests of different customers, by arranging a “friendly atmosphere interface” between overseas-customers’ ambitions and national space-industry realities. Technically, this is really a challenge-task difficult to cope with, because every guest- satellite to be launched in a cluster batch is engineered to its individual technological method requiring individual pre-launch provisions.
Since April 1999, with success of the “Dnepr” launch-port, ICC COSMOTRAS is a stable operator in provision of cosmic services worldwide. By 2011, history of launches holds a record of 16 starts of RS-20 rockets that have consecutively delivered 56 spacecraft units to near-Earth orbits. Launch servicing customers were space agencies and companies from Great Britain, USA, Italy, Saudi Arabia, Germany, France, Japan et al.
Rocket carriers “Dnepr” are launched from ‘Baikonur’ Cosmoport (Kazakhstan) and “Yasny’ launch-port complex (built specifically for the “Dnepr” Space Program). The ICC COSMOTRAS activities were highly appreciated by Governments of Russia and Ukraine; executives and specialists engaged in realization of the “Dnepr” space program were nominated with Prize from Russian Government and State Prize of Ukraine, in field of science & technology.
Accuracy of orbiting the spacecraft units has been ever enhanced, thanks to restless efforts in search (by assistance of scientific & production enterprise LTD RPI HARTRON-ARKOS) for ways of perfecting the spacecraft control & guidance system-capabilities. This is a really important factor under conditions of severe competition in market of cosmic services. Availability of a present-day park/ resource of never-launched combat missiles undergoing the military-to-civilian ‘demob’ conversion, multiplied by history of highly reliable launch events, are really promising for beneficial prospects to the Company life.
